It took a trip up to the Cost Plus World Market opening in Hyannis to kick me into action. We've always had bright furniture in this room, but with the newly painted white walls and my shopping haul... it all comes together and actually MATCHES!

OH my gosh... with all the excitement of the past couple of months (Houzz, Home and Family, One Room Challenge...) I realized I never shared our new FOYER!!! I mean, it's not "new", but I finally pulled it together! I see it everyday since it's the kids favorite place to set up their 'indoor swimming pool' (translation: bringing every throw pillow from the 1st floor into one pile) but I've kept it secret from you by accident! Sorry!!

There’s no way to do this briefly so grab a cup of coffee… this is going to be a whopper. First of all, thanks to Linda from Calling it Home for the motivation and thanks to ALL OF YOU for being such wonderful cheerleaders throughout the last 6 weeks. SUCH fun! Just to remind you where this all started… May I submit Exhibit A. We moved into this house last April, and the formal dining room had become a dumping ground for everything from craft projects to dog food to extra furniture. Not good.

Martha’s Colorful Desk Area

Last fall, I asked Martha what she wanted for Christmas and her answer was a desk. As the middle of our five kids, she watches her two big siblings sit down to write and draw and you can see her little wheels turning. I finally put the finishing touches on this corner in her room and it looks adorable... just like the artist in residence.

Thrifted Blue and White Family Room

I've posted a lot of Before and Afters, but this... THIS one might just take the cake. The power of paint, folks! For those of you who are new readers (hi!), we moved into our current house in April. It's a historic home from the 1850s and we love it! That said, there are lots and LOTS of projects for us. Most of them are cosmetic, but there are also the fair share of larger ones that we'll get to eventually! Sorry... back to the paint. THIS was how the room looked before.

Master Bedroom Filled with Texture and Pattern

You all will chuckle when you hear why I haven't posted about this master bedroom sooner. (And after you've finished chuckling, you might google some sort of procrastinator support group.) This room has been done for a couple of months with the exception of one thing: the curtains were 5 inches too short. Five inches. Well, I conquered those five inches and am ready to share our neutral-ish sleeping quarters. One day I will spend time in here relaxing and reading and having an afternoon cup of tea... for now I'm there between the hours of midnight and 7 a.m.

Louisa’s Boho Eclectic Nursery

When I first posted about Louisa's room in my Before Home Tour'... I didn't think I'd do much in there. And, I haven't done muuuuuuuch, but after tackling the other kids' spaces, I had to give sweet smiley Louisa something! It all started with a bookshelf. She had this one lame Ikea thing between her windows and I wanted something more. I found a perfect wooden one at the flea market for $12 and that sort of sent me off to the races. Don't ask.
