Next year I’ll honestly start looking for tips… I figured maybe I sucked because I never really had trees to decorate aside from our family tree, but this year it’s confirmed that it’s not my forte! 🙂

I’m with you. 🙂 And yes… bloggers are definitely becoming more like magazines… and in theory I LOVE the idea of trying something new each year because it’s fun to experiment, but I will ALWAYS love our main tree that we cut down ourselves and let the kids decorate with the family ornament collection… some prettier than others. Ha!

Honestly I just don’t “get” this concept of a tree that is themed or different every year??!! This sees to be something invented by the industry to sell new ornaments to people every year (trees in bedrooms sees like consumerism at its peak!) . Like my mom and grandmother , we use the same mix of ornaments each year – some inherited, some are made by the kids, some made by ME when I was a kid – replacing a few here and there, adding those that we get as gifts, replacing those that break. I guess that bloggers are becoming more like magazine shoots and need to generate content, but I get enjoyment out of seeing my old ornaments each year!
